Would this be a good workout for weight-loss and toning? I’ven't trained properly at all in about two years. I've a busy schedule and don't have much time for gyms and training. But I want to start again. So, I'm thinking, every morning before work I’ll do an ab/push-up workout. Reason being – pushups are about the best all round exercise you can do (without equipment) and I want to build my core with the abs exercises. So, on mon, wed, and fri, im going to do about fifty pushups in all ( gradually increasing as time goes on) Then, every other day, do the same for abs. Naturally, ill be changing the exercises every other day for each body part, and i'll be eating healthier. With me being a beginner, so to speak, would this be a good routine for toning and losing some fat. Also, i find this workout realistic….and i'll stick to it!

Great plan! However, just know that if you're looking to lose weight and/or burn fat you’re going to have to do more than just push-ups and sit ups. You need to integrate any type of cardiovascular exercise such as jogging, biking, or swimming, etc. For at least half an hour in addition to your stretches and exercises. A lot of people think that a gym is crucial, but in reality, it's not necessary at all. Furthermore, the machines for localized muscle strength training can be beneficial, but you can easily become healthy and in shape without one. Also, a lot of people will wonder aimlessly if they should spend hundreds of dollars on a piece of equipment for their own home (especially treadmills) but awaiting them outside are roads, parks, and trails free of charge. Plus, running outside is more beneficial seeing as the various inclines, wind resistance, heat etc. Are all helpful in burning extra calories rather than being in an air conditioned room with the treadmill keeping you going rather than the strength of your own feet. So my recommendation for you would be to try to jog 3 times a week. If you're a beginner and/or believe that you can't just start out by walking and eventually you'll get bored of it and you'll want to try to run it instead. Try interval training such as warming up by briskly walking for 5 to 10 minutes then: (1) Jog one minute (2) Walk two minutes (3) Jog two minutes (4) Walk one minute (5) Jog three minutes then briskly walk for 10 minutes (cool down). You can also just try running for a certain time period or for a certain distance, if you have an iPhone or smart phone there are plenty of apps for that. Also keep in mind that losing weight and toning up is 80% diet and 20% exercise; try to limit your dependence on multivitamins and supplements and try as hard as you possibly can to get in your nutrients through the food you eat. It was, to say the least, surprising to see how difficult that’s and how much I had neglected that in the past. I also consulted my physician about my dietary plans and he told me that ultimately multivitamins or supplements are useless and that your primary goal should be to eat the foods that contain them naturally. In spite of this, everyone is different and some have deficiencies or certain conditions, so your best bet would be to personally consult your doctor. The whole exercise regimen is overall difficult to get accustomed to and is a gradual process and change so if you go out with your friends for fast food or go to dinner to a restaurant and get chicken alfredo, don't beat yourself up over it and lose hope – merely take it as a learning experience. Over time, you’ll discover that you’re making wiser decisions of what you’re putting into your body if you keep confidence in your ability to succeed in all aspects of weight loss. With every single person I've helped in losing weight, all of them hit a breaking point at around the 2nd or 3rd week when they feel overworked, hungry for foods they craved, and haven't lost much weight because the fat they've burned has been replaced with heavier muscles. You must be in it, and perceive it all, through the long run or you're more likely to surrender. As you do push-ups, sit ups (strengthen hips, not abs), crunches, or other core strengthening exercises that you can Google, you'll definitely feel a difference in how your clothes fit, how you feel, and you'll finally reap the benefits and be glad you made the change. Just keep in mind that there's not a single thing worthy of possessing without a genuine struggle and that each step forward is one step closer to your goal. Sorry this is so lengthy, but best of luck and I hope you reach your goal. Edit: though you said you can't jog in the morning, I'd highly recommend trying. You could always jog in the evenings, but many times that keeps you awake and will interfere with sleep. Of course, regardless of the time, it’ll contribute to greater fat loss altogether.

Is swimming a good weight-loss exercise? I'm twenty-five years old and unfortunately very out of shape. I wanted to start exercising again, but I hate those exercise machines, so I wanted to try going back to swimming. I want to drop down a few dress sizes (Or at least 2-3 inches off my measurements hopefully by the end of the year.) but Im reading on the web that swimming isn't the best for weightloss. This seems to be in direct contradiction with the amount of calories they estimate to be burned in one hour. So I'm pretty confused at this point and wondering if I'll still lose weight this way. Anyone have any success stories? I need encouragement here!

Weight and Fat loss exercise techniques? Okay I’ve been watching what I’ve been eating and ive been eating very healthy. I want to loose at least 20lbs before June 2nd because im going on a trip and i want to look nice. I currently weigh 160 and im 5'5, fifteen years old and im a girl. I really want to tone my inner thighs because thats where the fat is located. I've noticed on my jeans the material is wearing away in that particular spot. I also want to tone my arms and stomach. I thought of biking to work my legs and butt, but what else would workout/ tone the rest of my body parts? My mission is to atleast loose 2lbs a week. I need some type of motivation to stick to my goal. Also, I’ve a back problem called Spondylolysis, so anything that would be easy on my back would be greatly appreciated. Thank You so much. I need this so badly.

Am i doing enough exercise for weight loss? I do about an hour and a half six days a week, combination of fast pace walking on the treadmill and the bike. I eat about 1,200 calories a day. I'm trying to lose twenty pounds. How effective is my routine ?
