Hoodia, it might be flying off store shelves but is this diet pill safe?
Hoodia is fast becoming one of the best sellers in nutritional stores but you have to ask yourself; what do you really know about this new African weight loss product? If you ask some dieters they liken their experience of taking Hoodia to finding water in the middle of the desert. They’ll tell you that it actually does reduce their hunger, which is for these people trying so very hard to lose weight a real weapon in their arsenal against obesity.
The question remains still, is this product safe? Just because there are many people taking Hoodia and saying that it is great and works for them, does this mean you should jump right in with this craze. The answer is: BE CAUTIOUS WHEN IT COMES TO HOODIA, NOT ALL HOODIA IS THE SAME! We’ve seen countless other diet pills that have come and gone in the arena of weight loss; leaving their scars on people with their side effects and dashed hopes of weight loss. Hoodia is not the same as these other weight loss products, with Hoodia there are different reasons for being concerned. So far safety is not the top concern when it comes to the Hoodia, many people are now taking Hoodia and at this point there are no reports of any serious health problems related to consuming Hoodia properly.
One additional helpful fact around this study. Additional assurances of Hoodia’s safeness can be further validated in the origin of where this cactus type plant comes from. The actual plant that’s now found capsulated in pill form is called “Hoodia Gordonii” and grows in the Kalahari Desert of South Africa. Hoodia has been a source of nourishment for the native Bushmen that live in the desert where the Hoodia succulent grows naturally. These Bushmen called “The San” have eaten Hoodia for thousands of years with no ill health effect; they actually claim it gives them energy in addition to helping them have no hunger. Reducing hunger is an important part of these aborigines’ lives because of the fact that food is hard to come by in the desert; these people sometimes have to go days without eating. Because The San People have been eating Hoodia for so long it would suggest that Hoodia is safe to consume.
HOODIA GORDONII PLANTS I’ve PHOTOGRAPHED AT MY NURSERY
Unlike other diet pills that have been on the market lately where safety has been the top concern, Hoodia has other issues for the consumer to deal with. The most prevalent problem when it comes to Hoodia is if what you have bought is actual real genuine Hoodia Gordonii from South Africa. Most people trust that what they get on store shelves is what it says it’s; this is not the case with Hoodia and it is not necessarily the company’s fault that’s selling it. The problem is there is no regulation with Hoodia and there are only a few companies that have adopted self regulation in the form of certification and independent testing. World demand has put a high price on Hoodia and big profits without regulation are an equation for corruption.
One study done by Truth Publishing and Alkemist Pharmaceuticals located at: naturalhealthreport.com/A-Hoodia-Gordonii-exposed.html, found that 11 out of 17 brand-name Hoodia supplements tested failed a laboratory analysis of authenticity. Shocking isn’t it, and some of these Hoodia brands are selling in your neighborhood nutritional store. Many times the brand name may not even be aware of the problem because the breakdown in authenticity comes at the source of distribution. There are other cactus type plants in South Africa that look like Hoodia only do not produce the same appetite suppressing qualities. Some sources collect these plants and mix them in with the real Hoodia and then export them to unknowing companies that then sell it as genuine Hoodia. Safety wise, it might not hurt you to eat these plants but you will not have the hunger curbing effects of the real Hoodia that you want.
In the future, hopefully more regulation will be put in place and fake Hoodia will not get into the consumers hands. Until that time you need to be vigilant to be sure what you’re getting is the real thing. There are a few Hoodia brands that have contracted with registered Hoodia farms and are giving dieters authenticity assurances with independent testing and certification. The independent testing by Truth Publishing stated that their were 6 Hoodia brands they tested that passed for authenticity, these brands are: Desert Burn ZA, Hoodoba Hoodia, Dr. Wheeler’s Afrigetics, King Hoodia, Hoodia Max and Ethno Africa. Genuine Hoodia is giving many people the results they want and helping them lose weight; just make sure you have the real stuff before you join the Hoodia Weight Loss Club. Have you had a successful experience with 100% pure Hoodia XPF? This is my second day taking 100% pure Hoodia. So far I haven’tice a burst of energy, no shakes and no hunger pains.
This is absolutely amazing and lives up to its claims. I was more than a little cynical, having tried a number of other different products(including other Hoodia products), and nothing, I mean NOTHING helped calm my hunger, or curb my cravings for carbs. I do not have a lot of weight to lose (10-15 pounds), but at the rate I was gaining, I saw that if I could not control my eating, I would soon be getting to the point of serious weight gain. This product not only took away my hunger, but when you do eat, you find your interest in food quite lessened, along with the amount you eat. No side effects, either. It’s great, and definitely worth every penny. You’ll have to remind yourself to eat!
Hoodia XPF is known for sending out unsolicited spam emails and like Travis said they’ve sneaky autoship program. Is that the kind of company you want to do business with? You need to make sure you get a strong pure hoodia that’s certified to be genuine. Check out Totalink's unbiased Hoodia comparison at in the “Confidence” column it’ll indicate if the brand is “Certified”. These Hoodia brands have the credentials to back up their product. Also in that column it’ll indicate if the brand is “Returnable”. These Hoodia brands allow you to return opened bottles and get your money back. I think this indicates that a company has confidence in their product that it works. I’ve written a lot of articles on Hoodia. Just search Yahoo or Google under my name Andrew Aitaken to find them. Remember, you should always consult your physician before taking any diet pill or weight loss supplements

This hoodia has worked better for me then any I’ve tried in the past so I’m a fan of this product. I travel alot and can get into stressful situations regularly which make me hungry. I dont want to gain unncecessary weight by grabbing fast food all the time and food often isnt available in my sales excursions. I like this product a lot because it helps curb my hunger and is time released so you get more help from it, so I’m more comfortable when I can not eat but also; hey! I’m eating less even when food is available so it’s helping me lose weight. My wife has been impressed and is starting to use it too.

Hoodia- does anyone know which brand actually works? Has anyone had any success ? And if so.. On which pills because the internet is a total scam… I'm looking for a legit answer.yes I’m aware the diet and exercise work well for weightloss.. However a supressant of appetite would be nice to have in addition to a balanced diet and healthy life style. Thanks
I bought a box of HoodiaP57 from the products website. The pill did do a good job of making me not as hungy. It didnt make me feel “full” right away, but I did eat less and had less cravings between meals. Everyone around me noticed I wasnt helping myself to 2nd servings. It’snt a miracle pill that will make you lose all of your appetite but it does good for someone who’s willing to put some effort into eating less. Overall I think its a great product and the free shipping on this blog makes it worth buying here over the products website.
You’re right. Diet and exercise is the way to lose weight. Hoodia should only be seen as an aid to dieting. I lost about ten lbs using hoodia to reduce my hunger feeling. I always had a problem with that when it came to exercise. Somehow the hoodia made me forget about snacking and craving especially for my desserts. I got mine from
In order to get any effect from the Hoodia, you have to take eightteen pills a day! Six pills x three times in 24hrs. When each bottle only contains 180 pills, that means each bottle is only a ten day supply. If you try to cheat and only take ten or twelve pills a day, still hungrier than a bear and I will eat two full 12oz steaks, baked potato, and vegies 2hrs after taking the six pills. Overall I’ve to say I’m not impressed with this product at all.
I have tried this hoodia product as well as Hoodia P57. They both worked for me although this one took a lot longer to kick in and didn’t work quite as well as the P57 but still not bad at all. I had to take this product about two weeks before I noticed any changes in my appetite or cravings. After that it worked well.
