Safe weight loss for extremely obese? It seems the standard recommendation is to lose no more than 1.5 Pounds a week. However I'm wondering if its safe to lose more than that considering how far I’ve to go to get to my goal weight. About me. I'm 6'3″ and 320 lbs. I calorie count and have been keeping a 2000-2300 calorie diet. Try to eat alot of chicken, fish, veggies, and alot of whole grains. I try to work out five days a week for about 1.5 – Two hours, doing cardio every workout and circuit training every other. I've been losing about 3-4 pounds a week. Just want to know if this is a sustainable path to my final goal weight of 190 lbs. Would love to hear your experiences too.
